This recently made used Merrill C-28 (379), Jim Merrill’s version of a 1937 D-28, remains in near mint condition. Select Adirondack spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, Waverly G-98 style tuners, herringobne D-28 styling, Mid-1930s style wide neck with 1 3/4″ nut and 2 5/16″ string spacing at the bridge. Large, open voice with a lot of bluegrass style presence. The recent setup by Alan Perlman with a taller saddle gives more room to dig in for a wide dynamic range. With original hardshell case.
