This consignment early 1935 Gibson Roy Smeck Stage De Luxe (Batch Number 1011) is unconverted except for the addition of frets and is very responsive, with a lively and musical voice. Spruce top with the early 3 3/4″ soundhole diameter, Honduras mahogany back, sides, and neck, Replacement Waverly G-98 style tuners, Painted headstock from with script “Gibson” logo and block letter “Roy Smeck Stage De Luxe”  model designation, Original 2 1/8″ nut width and raised bone nut for hawaiian playing, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots inlay and installed frets, Brazilian rosewood bridge with cream pin set, Original cream endpin with green colored oxidation, Red Turtle-oid pickguard, Cream colored body bindings. Further conversion to conventional playing could include: Bridge replacement, Neck reset, Narrowing of the neck profile to the 1 3/4″ to 1 7/8″ range, and Reducing the nut height. The voice is complex and responsive. With 1980s tweed covered hard case.
