This customized 1962 American Standard (2757) features a replacement German neck from about 1900 and a dramatic black and red rendering of Bruce Lee on the back. We found this bass about 6-7 years ago and it was sold within 30 minutes of its first setup. The most recent repairs have included a new African ebony fingerboard, Aubert bridge with adjusters, and a new sound post. The original neck had too many breaks to salvage, so we had the old German neck installed with a string length that duplicates the original one for this bass, 43 1/2″. The interior was cleaned up to prevent any rattles or buzzes. New German aluminum endpin, lightweight painted tailpiece, New ebony nut. The Bruce Lee painting on the back remains relatively unscratched. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 43″, Upper bout width 21″, Middle bout width 15 1/2″, Lower bout width 26″, Depth at neck 6 1/2″, Depth at upper bout corner 7 7/8″, Depth at tail 8″, String length 43 1/2″. The voice is full, penetrating, and has a lot of presence in all registers. It is great to have this bass back in inventory again! This instrument performs well with a variety of stringings. With cover.
