This near mint condition tobacco sunburst 1988 Gibson ES-175 (80348533) ably represents the quintessential mid-century electric jazz archtop. The only real sign of use is a bent G string tuner button. I have adjusted the polepieces on both humbucker pickups to balance the individual outputs of each string in the Thomastik George Benson GB 112 flatwound light gauge set. Adjusting the tone and pickup combinations, a dead-on tone match for Herb Ellis’ bright, incisive guitar voice, or Jim Hall’s dark and fat tone can be easily achieved. The frets are in perfect shape and the action has been adjusted for easy play. The one non-original feature is a Stew-Mac compensated bridge that more properly intonates playing all the way up the neck. A professional grade performance instrument in every way. With nearly new condition TKL hardshell case.
